about the artist

I live amongst some of the best wilderness that we have in Ontario. It is the landscape that inspires me. I've always lived along the north shore of Lake Superior, and I’ve fallen in love with Marathon and the coloured history of those who found the beauty before me; I follow in their 100 year old footsteps while breaking my own trail through my creative process.

These two fundamentals are at the core of my core creative process; observation & feeling. When I’m on the land, I try to carve the sensations observed into my being. While I walk through the world I walk with the desire to commune with the landscape;  feel what’s around me; surrounded by a natural embrace. When out there, I don’t feel alone; but connected. I become energized by what is around me; listening to the waves against my boat or the wildlife chatter that calls the landscape home (and at times interrupted by my young family lol); that is a magical experience.

When we’re out there, soaking it all in, I just want to capture the feeling of that moment in my work.

Let the art speak for itself.
